Arts Council of Greater Baton Rouge

The Arts Council of Greater Baton Rouge promotes, develops and supports artists and art organizations in an eleven parish area. It provides arts education programs, grants, the Arts Market, FestforAll, Sunday in the Park, River City Jazz Masters, Community School for the Arts, and Community Gallery exhibitions.

In 2004, the Arts Council and the EBRP School System were accepted to the prestigious Kennedy Center Partners in Education program.

Baton Rouge Ballet Theatre

Baton Rouge Ballet Theatre is Baton Rouge’s Award Winning Ballet Company comprised of professional and pre-professional dancers. They offer a major season and present their unique “Nutcracker…A Tale from the Bayou” each year. BRBT also sponsors a far-reaching educational program serving an 8-parish region including touring libraries, elementary schools and community centers.

Baton Rouge Little Theater

Baton Rouge Symphony

The Baton Rouge Symphony presents the Entergy Masterworks series, Louisiana Lottery Tunes Around Town, Young People’s Discovery Concerts, Bank One Pops series, and Lamar Family Chamber Concerts. They house the Louisiana Youth Orchestra Program and the Baton Rouge Symphony Chorus.

Friends of Magnolia Mound

The Friends of Magnolia Mound assist in the preservation and interpretation of the historic house and site as a demonstration of early plantation life in south Louisiana, and procure and manage the collection. The plantation is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and welcomes visitors from all over the world.

Magnolia Mound is the oldest wooden structure in Baton Rouge, circa 1791, and has one of three of the accredited working museum kitchens in Louisiana.

Louisiana Art and Science Museum (LASM)

LASM features fine art exhibitions and a permanent collection that contains America’s second-largest collection of works by master sculptor Ivan Meštrovic. It also boasts Greek, Roman and Egyptian artifacts and several interactive exhibits. Discovery Depot is a creative playroom and Science Station provides hands on learning for children. Its newest attraction is the Irene W. Pennington Planetarium.

Of Moving Colors

Of Moving Colors Productions (OMC) offers contemporary dance-theatre incorporating different artistic mediums such as dance, theatre, poetry, live music and the visual arts. Providing part-time jobs for artists, training by world-class guests and community outreach are three ways that OMC continues to raise the bar for the arts in Louisiana.

Playmakers

Playmakers of Baton Rouge, Inc., Louisiana’s professional theatre for young audiences, was founded in 1982. Playmakers’ mission is to provide entertaining education experiences for young audiences through quality live theatre.
